The IETF Multimob Working Group aims to provide guidance for supporting multicast in a mobile environment. The current scope is limited to Proxy Mobile IPv6, IGMPv3/MLDv2 protocols and listener mobility. The WG was formed on September 9, 2009. The work on Multimob started in March 2007 in IETF 68 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Multimob WG met for the first time on November 12, 2009 in Hiroshima, Japan. In this meeting consensus has been established on IGMPv3/MLDv2 Proxy at the Mobile Access Gateway as the approach to provide basic PMIPv6 multicast support solution.
Multimob BoF met on July 28, 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden.
